Ingredients
Phenolic acids: Orcinol, syringic acid, vanillic acid, gentisic acid, p‑hydroxybenzoic acid, gallic acid, and ellagic acid. Amino acids: Aspartic acid, alanine, γ‑aminobutyric acid, asparagine, arginine, etc. Tannins: Chestanin, neocretanin, and chesnatin. Others: Quercetin, urea, pigments, etc.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 5–10 g. For topical application: decoct an appropriate amount in water for washing; or burn to ash and apply with a suitable base.

For lacquer dermatitis (contact dermatitis from Toxicodendron) (Anhui Chinese Herbal Medicine) Take 2 parts of chestnut tree bark or root bark and 1 part of crab shell. For lacquer dermatitis (Tianmu Mountain Medicinal Plant Records) Take 250-500g of chestnut tree bark, decoct in water, add 30-60g of iron rust, and wash the affected area 2-3 times daily. For traumatic injuries (Sichuan Chinese Materia Medica, 1982) Take chestnut tree bark, crush and apply to the affected area.
