Mì Huā Lún Huán Téng (Dense flower Cyclea) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the root of Cyclea densiflora (Yamamoto) Y. C. Tang et S. L. Lo, a plant belonging to the family Menispermaceae. It grows in low‑altitude forests or thickets. It is recorded in Xinhua Bencao Gangyao (New Compendium of Materia Medica).
Efficacy & Actions
Clears heat, removes toxicity, promotes diuresis, treats strangury, disperses blood stasis, and relieves pain.
Indications
Wind‑heat common cold, sore throat and toothache, damp‑heat diarrhea, strangury with painful urination (difficulty and burning sensation during urination), and traumatic injuries.
Modern Pharmacology
Antitumor and cardiotonic effects. Anti‑arrhythmic, anti‑myocardial ischemia, and antihypertensive effects: relaxes and dilates blood vessels, and relaxes muscles. Antispasmodic and anti‑anxiety effects. Anti‑tuberculosis effects: effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis; enhances immunity and white blood cell count. Inhibits gastric atrophy. Anti‑inflammatory, antibacterial, and antimalarial effects.

Usage & Dosage
