Hóng Tóu Xiǎo Xiān (Red Head Little Immortal) is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried whole herb of Blumea mollis (D. Don) Merr., a plant belonging to the family Asteraceae. It grows in fields and open grasslands at altitudes of 400–900 meters.

Ingredients
n‑Triacontane. n‑Hentriacontane. 2,3‑Dimethoxy‑p‑cymene. 2,4,5‑Trimethoxyallylbenzene. Caryophyllene oxide. Chrysantheneone. Monoterpene, etc.
Usage & Dosage
For oral administration: decoct in water, 10–15 g; or crush and steep in boiling water for gargling or holding in the mouth. For topical application: decoct an appropriate amount in water for washing; or crush and apply the juice.
Selected Formulas
For infantile malnutrition (gan) (empirical formula) Take 6g of Roumao Ainaxiang (Blumea mollis) and 1.5g of Wusuli Wawei (a local herb). Decoct in water and drink. For extremely emaciated patients, continue up to 10 doses, with possible modification according to symptoms. For stomatitis (oral inflammation) (empirical formula) Take several leaves of Hongtou Xiaoxian (Blumea mollis), rub them until softened, steep in boiling water, and hold in the mouth and swallow slowly. For eczema and skin itching (empirical formula) Take Roumao Ainaxiang, decoct in water for fumigation and washing; or use fresh herb, crush to extract juice, and apply externally.
