Gāo Yuán Yuān Wěi Zǐ is a traditional Chinese medicinal material. It is the dried mature seed of Iris potaninii Maxim., a plant belonging to the family Iridaceae. It grows on rocky slopes or dry slopes at altitudes above 3,000 meters. It was first recorded in the Qingzang Gaoyuan Yaowu Tujian (Illustrated Handbook of Medicinal Plants of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau).
